The Sarah Marley staff and I take this opportunity to welcome you and your child to a new and exciting school year. We are looking forward to working with you and your child to make this a productive and successful educational experience.
Our leadership team is very pleased since most of the goals that we had set to help improve our students with academics are falling into place. This is the third year we have a Reading Specialist, our Leveled Book Room is ready and our Computer Lab is up and running since January of last year. All of this will help our students with academic, technological, and study skills.
Ms. Rhea Morales, fifth grade teacher, started a very exciting program - Math and Science Academy (MASA). This program integrates technology, mathematics, science, and language arts. We are sure that this program will serve the students as an articulation bridge from elementary to middle school to high school to college as well open their minds and plant the seed for future studies in engineering, technology, math, science, biomedical, genomic, etc. Come and see this beautiful modern classroom! El personal de Sarah Marley toma la oportunidad para darle a su hijo/a y a usted la bienvenida a un año muy emocionante y lleno de nuevas oportunidades para aprender. Queremos trabajar con su hijo/a y con usted y hacer este año una experiencia educativa productiva y exitosa.
Nuestro personal está muy satisfecho porque algunas de las metas que fijamos para mejorar los logros académicos de nuestros estudiantes están dando resultado. Este es el tercer año que tenemos una Especialista en la Lectura, nuestro Cuarto de Libros de Diferentes Niveles ya está listo y el Laboratorio de Computadoras está en su apogeo desde enero del año pasado. Todo esto ayudará a nuestros estudiantes en lo académico, lo tecnológico y con sus destrezas del estudio.
Este año estamos inaugurando, y al mismo tiempo tanteando el terreno, con un programa que integra la tecnología, las matemáticas, las ciencias y el arte del idioma. La profesora, Rhea Morales, implementará un plan de estudio utilizando la tecnología para impartir las cátedras de matemáticas, ciencias, y arte del idioma. Este programa servirá como puente de transición para sexto año y para sembrar el interés en los estudiantes para las profesiones en la tecnología, ingeniería, las ciencias, y áreas de medicina. ¡Vengan a ver la clase del futuro! ¡Está fantástica! Gracias, profesora Morales por emprender esta gran tarea.
